The Calusa Indian Heritage Trail

is the place to be on Saturday

10:00 am to 8:00 pm

Explore the talents of local artists and enjoy musical entertainment. Participate in writers' workshops featuring some of Florida’s well-known authors and get your own signed copy of their works. Learn about the ancient culture of people who were once the most powerful in all of South Florida.

Mel Meo A variety of activities appealing to all will be offered at the Calusa Indian Heritage Trail in Pineland. Watch artists demonstrate their plein air techniques and talents working in water color, acrylic, and making clay pottery using ancient techniques. Experience a unique method of paper casting. Learn how to paint, make rope, hats and fans the way Calusa Indians used to do thousands of years ago. Take guided Calusa Land and Sea tours.Firing Calusa Style Pottery

Children can participate in a variety of activities from arts and crafts to ancient Calusa Indian games. Enjoy delicious food and drinks offered all day.

At dusk enjoy the music entertainment followed by a bonfire under the stars on the site of the ancient shell mounds.
